East African Safari 13 days/12 nights: Uganda, Kenya & Tanzania Safari

This safari tour is organised to expose you to the exciting experience of the primates, birds and the big five in East Africa.

Access Africa Safaris Ltd, is prepared to design at your request an itinerary that will suit your budget and interest. We shall take you to Kibale Forests national park, Bwindi Impenetrable National park, Lake Bunyonyi for a cultural tour, and then to Kenyan parks - Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara, and finally to Tanzania - visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Lake Manyara National park.

Day 1 On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be received by our tour agent who will immediately transfer you to Entebbe Botanical Beach Hotel (BB). In case you have arrived early in the day you will have an excursion to Ngamba Island-the Jane Goodall Institute for habituated chimpanzee tracking.

Day 2 After a briefing from our tour guide and breakfast you will be transferred to Kibale Forest National park reaching there towards mid-day. Arrive at Ndali Lodge for your lunch before moving to the forests for primates viewing and birding.

Day 3 After breakfast exploit the morning opportunity to watch variety of primates in Kibale Forests including, among others, the nine diurnal primates - vervet, red-tailed, l’Hoest’s and blue monkeys, red colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, black-and-white colobus, olive baboon, and chimpanzee. Visitors who do both the forest and the swamp walks expect to see five or six primate species.
After your lunch transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving late in the evening. Relax for your dinner and overnight at Bwindi Gorilla Resort

After early breakfast, go for the chimpanzee trekking and primates viewing in Kibale Forest. After lunch proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National park for dinner and overnight at Bwindi Gorilla Resort or Buhoma Homestead (FB)

Day 4 After breakfast, the guides will brief you, with packed lunch; you will be led through the gorilla trails to the families of mountain gorillas. In the afternoon transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for your cultural tour.

Day 5 After breakfast enjoy a boat ride as you move to interact with the local Bakiga communities and the Batwa pygmies - an exciting cultural tour. After lunch at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort, transfer to Kampala reaching their in the evening.
Have a dinner and an overnight at Speke Resort Hotel-Munyonyo (luxury), or a budget hotel on your request. (FB)

Day 6 After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe Airport for your flight to Nairobi-Kenya. You will be received by our tour guide who will transfer you to the Aberdares National Park.
Have a dinner and an overnight at The Ark - a hotel in the heart of the park overlooking floodlit waterhole and saltlick, that is an attraction point for most animals; designed with magnificent vantage points at several lounges and balconies; and its ground level bunker offers strategic photographic views within a close range to animals.

Day 7 After breakfast visit The Great Rift Valley. A stop-over at Nyahururu Water Falls, commonly referred to as the “T-Falls”, is a breath-taking spectacular point. Proceed through the Great Eastern Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Get lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge as you prepare for an afternoon game drive. The variety of bird species, notably, the flamingoes, is so rewarding.

Day 8 After breakfast drive across the basement of the Great Rift Valley via Narok Town to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Go for an afternoon game-drive that will expose you to the Big Five, numerous antelope species and a variety of birds. You can even walk with a Maasai moran (warrior) outside the park, where there is still a large amount of wildlife. The Masai village just outside Oloolaimutiek gate is open to tourist.

Day 9 After breakfast go for a game drive in Maasai Mara. Spend the day occupied with a game drive.
Have lunch, dinner and an overnight at Mara Serena Lodge (FB).

Day 10 After breakfast once again go for a morning game drive in Maasai Mara. Later in the day drive back to Nairobi arriving there in the afternoon.
Have lunch, dinner and an overnight at Nairobi Serena Hotel (Luxury), Oakwood Hotel (Mid-Range), or New Kenya Lodge (Budget) - Full Board.

Day 11 After breakfast board a tourist shuttle Bus off to Tanzania and arrive at noon in Arusha. Have your lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge and later proceed to Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive thereafter relax for a dinner and an overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge or Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge (FB).

Day 12 After breakfast transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Crater highlands consist of an elevated range of volcanoes which rises from the side of the Great Rift Valley and runs along the Eastern edge of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). With its high concentration of wildlife, close-range viewing opportunities and striking scenery, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of East Africa’s most visited destinations. At about 20 km wide it is also one of the largest caldera in the world. Within its walls is an astounding variety of animals and vegetation, including the grasslands, swamps, forests, saltpans, a fresh water lake and rich birdlife. Animals you expect to see include elephants, lions, buffaloes, a black rhino, and a variety of plain herbivores such as wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelles, reedbucks and zebras, as well as hundreds of flamingoes wading in the shallows of Lake Magadi, the soda lake at the crater’s base. Ngorongoro can be visited any time of the year, but during April and May it can be wet and difficult to negotiate.

Day 13 After breakfast drive back to Arusha and board an afternoon shuttle bus to Nairobi which will leave you Jomo Kenyatta Airport for your flight back to your home country.
