Gorilla Trekking Rwanda - 3 days/2 nights

Rwanda enjoys a moderate temperature throught the year with two dry seasons, January-March and June-September. So, gorilla trekking which is quite demanding would be appropriate in dry season since this activity involves some hiking and moreover in a rain forest.
Parc National des Volcans protects the Rwandan sector of the Virunga Mountains, a range of six extinct and three volcanoes which shares the border with Uganda and the DRC. Four habituated mountain gorilla families in this park are more of a big attraction to the tourists than any other place in the whole of East Africa.
Tracking of mountain gorillas in Parc National des Volcans is open throught the year. It is advisable that gorilla permits are booked in time for your safari to be a success.

Gorilla tracking itinerary-Parc National des Volcans

Day One:
At 7.00 am after breakfast our tour guide will take you to Rwanda by road through Mbarara town following the picturesque road cutting through the Kigezi Highlands (the “Switzerland of Africa”). You will cross the Katuna border post as you enter Rwanda in the Northern district of Ruhengeri.
Have an overnight and dinner at Gorillas Nest Lodge (Full Board)

Day Two:
After breakfast you will be briefed by the park guides and later go for mountain gorilla tracking. You will be led through the thick tropical rain forest in search for a family of habituated mountain gorillas. You will need carry packed food as the exercise may take longer. You are given at least one hour to enjoy time with while you are taking photographs. However you must not use a flash while you are taking photographs. After the gorilla tracking activity, return to the Hotel for refreshments and lunch and then move to Kabale at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp for an overnight and a dinner.

Day Three:
After breakfast enjoy a boat cruise on the lake as you interact with the local community and viewing the various magnificent bird species in this area. Before mid-day drive back to Kampala, en rout have lunch in Mbarara.
