Kilimanjaro Hiking -8 days: Umbwe Route

Day One: Nairobi-Arusha
After an early breakfast in Nairobi transfer to Arusha by Bus arriving at mid-day. Straight away move to Arusha Hotel for your lunch and relaxation. Spend the afternoon doing some shopping in preparation for mountaineering.
Have a dinner and an overnight Marangu Hotel.
Day Two: Arusha-Lava caves
After an early breakfast our tour guide will lead you to Marangu Gate and then to Umbwe village for the climb. Ascend via rain forests and access the lava caves at 2,800m.
Have a dinner and an overnight at Lava caves Camp.
Day Three: Lava caves-Barranco hut.
After an early breakfast climb a sharp ridge through the moorland and access the Barranco Camp (3,900m).
Have a dinner and an overnight at Barranco Camp.
Day Four: Barranco hut- Arrow glacier.
After breakfast move across big ridge and finally camp at the foot of the allow glacier (4,900m). Here you will enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Mt. Meru.
Day Five: Arrow glacier-Kilimanjaro crater rim
Now ascend a steep slope covered with frozen lava and finally camp at the breath-taking crater rim of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Day Six: Kilimanjaro crater rim-Horombo hut
Climb the highest peak in Africa - the Uhuru Peak (5,896m)! Then slope down through Gilman’s Point and Kibo Hut (3,761m) for your dinner and an overnight.
Day Seven: Horombo hut-Arusha.
After breakfast, you will slope down to Marangu Park gate through Mandara. Our tour guide will now take you to Arusha.
Have a dinner and an overnight at Arusha Crown Hotel
Day Eight: Arusha- Nairobi
After your breakfast, transfer to Nairobi reaching there in the afternoon by a bus.
End of the safari tour.
