Birding Vacation in the Home of Gorillas:Bwindi Impenetrable NP

Day 1
Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. The park is known to support over bird 340 species, with 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemic species that occur in Uganda. The park is a bird watchers paradise and a gorilla refuge. You will drive for about 7 hours to reach in the afternoon and bird around Buhoma region. Dinner and overnight at luxurious Gorilla Resort / Buhoma Community

Day 2
Early in the morning, go along the River Ivy trail - the longest trail in the park to Mubwindi. Expect birds like the Dwarf- honey guide, Archer’s robin -chat, evergreen forest warbler, Crimsonwings Rufuos -breasted Sparrow hawk, Narrow tailed, Purple-breasted sunbirds, and slender billed starlings, and many more. After lunch walk along the short trail to Mubwindi to look for birds like the Black billed, Waller’s starling, Turaco, Bar-tailed trogon, White headed wood hoopoe, the spectacular yellow billed barbets, Carruthers’ Cisticola and the localized Grauer’s Rush Warbler. Dinner and overnight at the luxurious Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 3
Go for forest walk to search for birds that you did not see the previous day. This will take you half day. In the afternoon you will drive back to Kampala. You will reach in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel Kampala / Hotel Africana.
