1 day: Trip To Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Tour Uganda

Ngamba Island is a home to 39 orphaned chimpanzees, a project of the Chimpanzees Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT), established to provide a home as well as conserve their fragile forest habitat. The Island is part of the Koome group of islands located on Lake Victoria 23km south of Entebbe, Uganda. Chimpanzees are an endangered species found only in the forests of Africa.

After a short briefing by your guide, depart from Entebbe Pier the shores of Lake Victoria and travel by boat to the island (approximately 45 minutes by speedboat or 1½ hours by motorized traditional boat). The boat crosses the Equator en-route. On arrival at the sanctuary, you will be given a short introduction and briefing. You will then View either a morning or afternoon feeding of the chimpanzees from the visitors platform area along the edge of the sanctuary fence, it is fascinating to watch the chimps interact with each other and with their keepers. Hear an informative talk by sanctuary staff, viewing a neighbouring fishing village, fantastic bird-watching and other wildlife encounters, or just sunbathe and relax! You will return to the mainland in the late afternoon where you will meet your safari guide who will transfer you to your hotel/Entebbe Airport to meet your flight back home.
