12 days:Cultural Tours In Uganda
Many safaris that are conducted by tour companies in Uganda, usually target birding and game viewing. After a careful analysis, Access Africa Safaris has finally come up to bridge this gap. We shall endeavor to design itineraries that are budget-responsive but able to focus on only those aspects of the cultural life of the biggest tribes in Uganda such as the Baganda, Bagisu, Banyarwanda and Banyankole among others.
Some of the major activities to be considered in our itinerary will include:-
- Local cultural ceremonies, dances and drama
- Village walking tour
- Traditional way of healing
- Handicrafts making
- Other activities that we shall find appropriate in the due course.
Day One:
Our tour guide will be waiting you Entebbe International Airport with a placard in your name. He will take you to Hotel Africana for a dinner and an overnight.
Day two:
After your breakfast, our tour guide will take you around Kampala suburbs. You will visit cultural sites such as the Kasubi tombs, Nomo Art Gallery, the Uganda Museum, and markets such as St. Balikudembe among others.
Have your dinner and an overnight at Sheraton Hotel / Hotel Africana (Full Board)
Day Three:
After an early breakfast, your guide will now take you to Eastern Uganda. You will visit ‘The Source of the Nile’ at Lake Victoria. You will enjoy the Bungee jumping and cultural performances at Bujagali Falls. Meet the Basoga and have an interaction with them before returning to Kampala in the evening.

Day Four:
Very early in the morning, after your breakfast, your guide will lead you to Western Uganda en route making a stop-over at the Uganda Equator for the handicraft photography. You have to get your lunch with delicious local dishes at Mbarara and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will reach in the evening.

Day Five:
After breakfast, the tour guide will lead you to Kazinga Channel for a game drive. You will have an opportunity to view big mammals at the banks of the channel. The buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles and elephants among others will throw you into excitement.

Day Six:
After breakfast, go for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge. This area is rich in a variety of bird and animal species. From there you can move to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through Ishasha where you will see tree climbing lions. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is famous for gorilla tracking notwithstanding the vast bird and animal species in this region
Day Seven:
After breakfast, gorilla tourist guides will lead you through gorilla trails an effort to trace the gorilla families deep in the thick forest. Walking into a gorilla family is breath-taking. This activity will take you at least four hours if the weather permits. In the afternoon after a relaxation at Buhoma Rest Camp, you will enjoy a village tourist walk and later in the evening you return to Buhoma Rest Camp for an overnight.
Day Eight:
After breakfast, visit the Pygmy Batwa community and enjoy their unique cultural performances that can be arranged for you and art crafts.
Have an overnight with a dinner at Mgahinga Safari Lodge
Day Nine:
After a morning breakfast, your tour guide will lead you to the spectacular Virunga Volcanoes via the Kanaba Gap. The magnificent Crater Lake Mutanda is worth viewing. From there move to Mgahinga Safari Lodge as you appreciate the splendid scenery and have your dinner and an overnight.
Day Ten:
After breakfast your guide will lead you to Fort Portal. Here, you will visit the Omukama (king) of Toro’s magnificent palace, the Toro caves and the hot springs that are worshipped by the local community.
Day Eleven:
After breakfast, you can return to Kampala and arrive in the afternoon. Have an overnight at Sheraton Hotel.
Day Twelve:
Our guide can transfer you to the Airport for your flight back home.
