9 days: Safari To The Pearl Of Africa

Day One:
Arrive to Entebbe International Airport, transfer to the hotel in Kampala.
Dinner and Overnight at Speke Hotel, Mamba Point or Similar.

Day Two: The fabulous Murchison Falls on the Nile
After breakfast, leave Kampala and drive northwest to Murchison falls National Park. This beautiful drive takes approx 5-6 hours drive. You will stop in Masindi for lunch before continuing to the top of the falls. Here you will discover the different viewpoints and the inspirational spray as the Nile rumble through different rapids from a 7-metre gap to fall over 40 metres below. Continue to Paraa Lodge/Nile safari camp/Red chili for dinner and overnight listening to the sounds of Hippos, crickets and the roar of the Nile.

Day Three: Game drive and boat cruise on the river Nile
After a morning cup of coffee, you will go for a game drive. Here game viewing will be done aboard your open topped safari vehicle in search of Giraffes, Elephant, Bushbucks Lion, Jackal, Hartebeest and birdlife. Return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise which will allow you to have close up photo opportunities of schools of Hippo, crocodile, water birds, sometimes elephants and other wildlife that comes down for a drink in the afternoon heat. On docking at the mid River Island, you will take pictures of the Murchison Falls before returning to you accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day Four: Fort Portal on the shade of the Mountains of the Moon
Following breakfast, drive from Murchison Falls NP heading Southwest through the Albertine Escarpment of the Rift Valley. Continue through Hoima town and reach the beautiful town of Fort Portal which is located on the shadow of the mythical Rwenzori Mountain. Continue to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Five: Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Pearl of Uganda
Begin the day with a hearty breakfast after which go to Kibale Forest National Park for Chimpanzee trekking. Here you will be able to encounter so many different primate species among them including Red-Colobuses, grey cheeked Mangabeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, butterflies, birds and many other small insects.

In the afternoon, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park to meet your 3.00 pm or 5:00 pm boat cruise. This will cruise offers an incredible platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing, ideal for the Uganda safari. The abundant bird life is colorful and amazing with over 550 inhabitant species.

Day Six: The habituated chimpanzees of Kyambura Gorge
Take an early morning cup of Tea before going for a game drive along Kasenyi track and Kazinga channel track in the park and Expect to see lions, warthogs, elephants, loads of animals and birds. Continue through the Ishasha sector to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Continue through the park arriving in time for dinner and overnight.

Day Seven: Encounter with exciting mountain gorillas

After a heavy breakfast, report to the staging area where you will be briefed by your ranger guide. Tracking the Gorillas through the thick forest is a thrilling experience. If you are lucky you can get to see the gorillas, spend 1 hour with them, and be back at the lodge in time for dinner.

Remember to carry with you packed lunch, enough water as this activity is so exhausting, its also important to bring good hiking boots and long trousers for protection against stinging nettles.

Day Eight: The magnificent scenery of Lake Bunyonyi
Following breakfast, make a scenic journey to Kabale through the stunning landscape of the rolling hills with terraced land. Kabale town is referred as the "Switzerland of Africa" due to its beautiful scenery. After lunch, go for boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi itself. Expect to see a variety of Birds.

Day Nine:
Depart to Kampala, having lunch in Mbarara for lunch. Continue to the Equator for a photographic break.
